Fulvicin Dosage and Administration

The recommended dose for children 2 years and older is 10-20 mg/kg/day in single or 2 divided doses or micro-size 5-10 mg/kg/day in single or 2 divided doses.

The recommended dose for adults is 330-375 mg/day in single or divided doses; doses up to 750 mg/day have been used for infections more difficult to eradicate such as tinea unguium.

It is usually taken during several weeks for skin infections, during the month for hair and scalp infections, during two moths for foot infections, 3 to 4 months for fingernail infections, and at least 6 months for toenail infections.

Precautions

Before using Fulvicin tell your doctor if you are allergic to griseofulvin, penicillin, or any other drugs. Fulvicin may make your skin sensitive to sunlight, so you should wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Fulvicin may increase the effects of alcohol. Taken Fulvicin with alcohol may cause fast heartbeat, increased sweating, flushing, or redness of the face. Missed dose

Overdose

Symptoms of Fulvicin overdose are not known well but most possible include: lethargy, vertigo, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience one of them or any unusual symptoms call your doctor immediately.
